the last post i will ever visit

hey all,
our portfolio class had its last class together as a group, (next week have the portfolio review with our chairman.) very touching, it's strange to think i will no long be going to a class with my peers and looking at fresh work regularly. granted it was depressing when someone would not care about being there and have crappy work and then defend it like they actually cared. that i wont miss, but the handful of those who's work i enjoyed and admired made it worth while. those few helped to shape my own development, giving me rough guide lines i could use if i found myself lost.
but this isn't so much the end of something, it's more the opportunity to develop our own community and support those we actually care about, with out paying fact cash loan moneys. the prospect of getting a studio and studio mates makes me awesomely excited, even if thats not for a little while.

anyways, heres a piece i did for class, we had to show a subculture/cultural group, so i chose mods from the 60's and 70's. they all have sweet vespas and parkas. this was actually a pain in the ass to paint, but i felt i learned a lot from it.


also, these are sketches for an illustration i did for class on Ted Leo, the final was a silk screen which came out all right, but still think it can be done better, so i think i will paint it (even though that will take a crazy ass long time. mad crowds.

hey all,
heres a quick illustration i did on micro brewing. i drew it out and painted it really quick, so it's not as stong i would like it to be, but it was still fun. trying to learn more about color. enjoy!

addiction!

i seem to be addicted to putting up new posts on this thing, which may be result of being stuck in my building for the past 4 nights in a row. heres a page from an old sketch book, done in brush pens.


also, heres another piece from my ghosts series. i not really sure if this one is done completely or not. i still might add another element to it, just not sure what yet.



also, finally got my sloth book sent out on iphoto. what im doing is making a mock book to use a proposal device to make it into an actual publication. i have 12 panels completed and the rest of the pages are just the rough sketches just so they can see what the story is about. should be here in about a week! i hope it doesn't look lame!

body snatchers

hey all,
ive been on duty all weekend (RA duty for the dorms) and im soooo bored! i just want to get to the studios and work. anyways, heres a piece i did a few weeks ago for class, i was supose to do a parody of something and chose girls gone wild, but instead Muslim girls gone western. it doesnt really read as that at all, but i still liked it and painted it anyways.


also, here are some rough sketches for my next illustration, its on guantanamo bay and how they are going to shut it down, but no one knows what will happen to the detainees.

the ghost

been too long since my last post, been crazy busy. heres a personal piece i did a few weeks ago for a series on ghosts. i think the series will be called either "a loveless haunting" or "the ghosts of lost love" something like that, kinda emo, i know, but its been fun to paint.
