POST 168

HELLO INTERNET!
How are you? Where have I been?? What's happening??? So some where amidst holidays, work, and my other blogs I had lost track of this blog. I am fine. I have been working on fun and and not-as-fun-but-pays projects, looking for a new job, working on my portfolio and PLANNING OUR WEDDING! Yes, we are getting married this summer here in New York and we are so excited! It has been an exhausting few weeks scrambling to find an affordable venue but we have one at last! We have our church as well but we need to work out some details to make sure everything is set.
But enough about me! (even though everything on this blog is about me) here are some teeth I was commissioned to make for a dentist office. These guys were a ton of fun to make.
Also, here is a collaboration piece I made for Ten Paces and Draw. The theme was The Apocalypse. The sketch i made is below.

That's all for now! I promise I will hope back on the wagon and update with regularity again (though i may start a new blog, I have an issue with my gmail and this blog and it's a pain to log in with a separate account every time) Anyways, have a good night internet, see you soon!

POST 167

Hey everyone,
I am currently on the job hunt, so my desire to paint has diminished but my desire to draw has skyrocketed! Probably since drawing is much faster, and a quicker pay off. Here are a bunch of drawings!

Also, here is another cloud drawing! This makes four at them moment, and the next one i want to make will be a diptych. I might make one more after that before i start painting.

POST 166

hey everyone!
How is everybody doing? I've missed posting the past two weeks but i have been busy, plus I have a lot of works still in progress and not quite ready to show. Last week I had done some more pitch work for a food truck, in which I got to draw Spartans. Spartans and food trucks have nothing in common but that doesn't really matter in the food truck world, plus drawing Spartans is a ton of fun.
Here are two finals and two sketches for the children's book I've been chipping away at at. Its tricky to get the lighting and shading down with just a .5 pen, but the pay off is nice.

And of course here is some sketchbook work. More to come soon!

POST 165

hey everyone!
it has been a busy few weeks so i don't have a lot to show art wise. I did get to work on a storyboard for a new Disney products commercial which was fun. I have also been working on logos for an event company but i can't share anything until it's all finished. in the mean time, stuff from my sketchbook!

see ya next week!

POST 164

hey everyone!
so as summer comes to close, work tends to pick up pretty seriously. I just spent the past two days drawing dozens of gnomes. Yes, gnomes. I may post some of them later but I'm really not sure. The explanation - it was for my brothers ad agency for a pitch they are doing. Fun project though. any who, here are some other things.
Here is another cloud drawing! I want to make diptych for the series but I am having trouble making one that works.

I started the 30 day drawing challenge, and of course went over board and tried to do paintings instead! It ended after 4 days. Here's my favorite animal though, a red panda (well my fav after dogs)

See ya soon!

POST 163

Hey everyone!
I just got the new Andrew Hem book, Dreams Towards Reality, and it is amazing. Hem is definitely one of my favorite current artists, a constant source of inspiration for me. If you get the chance you should check it out. I'll be making a short write up of it on my art collective site, Flying Fortress next week.
I've been making a lot of headway on the children's book I am illustrating, here two piece is their final stages, though not quiet finished

and as usual here are some more pages of my sketchbook. trying to loosen up before i start big paintings.

More to come!
